I can't believed that i have not update my blog for almost one year. Time flies when one have to work full time, take care of two little notties and tackling endless chores. I hope that i will be able to keep up with the writing momentum and update more often for the year 2013.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish all  "Good Health & Good Year ahead"

Bunny Dear - flipping

After months of practicing, Bunny Dear finally flip by himself at 5 months, 4 days old,9:00pm.

He was lying on the floor where i usually changed him. I leave him there after changing him to his sleeping attire. It's the first time seeing him trying so hard to flip. It's such a historical moment for both hubby and me. We are so happy to see him finally succeeded in doing so.

Good job bunny dear. Mommy have to be more careful now that you can flip.

Bunny Dear 5 Months Milestone

Bunny Dear is officially 5 months old today.

Height: 65cm
Weight: 7.6kg

Milk Consumption: 6 times a day 5.5ounce each
Will start him on solid anytime how as he is getting hungry faster nowadays (less than 3 hours intervals)

Poo Pooing on average once in 2 days using potty.
Uses an average of 3-4 cloth diapers during day time and 1 disposable diaper at night (to clear out my stock)

Smiling and 'talking' a lot.
Very active but still reluctant to turn over.
Fancy his all time favourite "chicken drumstick" anytime, anywhere
Prefer to sit up rather than sleeping on the bouncer/mattress

Bunny dear had been very fuzzy recently. Not sure whether is due to teething issues. Just hope that he can cope with it really soon!

Fuzzy bunny makes mad mummy. >_<

Little Moo Moo - 37 months milestones

Little Moo Moo is 37 months now.

Height: 96cm
Weight: 12.5kg

She had grown up a lot especially after the birth of her little brother. She loves him very much. She loves to play with little brother and will kiss him goodnight.

She is now my little helper at home. She enjoys fetching stuff for the little brother, helps to sweep/mop the floor, wash the dishes, cut the vegetables, hang the clothes and even cooking.

She is potty trained (day time) but still on diapers at night.

She is still stuck with her pacifier and bolster for bedtime (afternoon nap and night).

She can brush her teeth, gaggle and wipe her face clean before bed time.

She can wash her hands with soap, rinse clean and wipe dry.

She can take off her pants and wear it properly after going to the toilet.

She can write the word "A", "B", & "H" and recognized most of the alphabets.

She is learning to handle a scissors through the weekly craft session.

She can cycle like a pro on her kiddie bicycle.

She recognize many colors, shapes and animals.

She can play computer/ iPad / Handphone games very well.

She loves cartoon. Current collection includes, Barney, Dora, Pingu, Super Why!, Up!, Rango, Gnome and Juliet, and Rio. I even introduced her to Upin and Ipin so that she can learn some Malay too!

She loves the color "BLUE". She will want to choose anything in blue if she have the power to choose. There's once, she even choose a blue color gelato!

She loves carrot, mushroom, broccoli, cauliflower, white rice, all kind of soup, fish, fried anchovies, boiled egg white, sausage, cheese, yoghourt, chocolate and milo.

She prefers sky juice than soft drinks.

She can use the fork, spoon and sometimes the kids' chopsticks to eat her meals.

She is still drinking milk from her milk bottle. 3 servings of milk per day. 7.5 ounces in the morning, 5 ounces each during afternoon nap and before bed at night.

She is learning to share things with her nieces and nephews and learning to say the magic word "Please", "Excuse Me", "Sorry" and "Thank you"  more often.

My girl is growing fast!

Cloth Diapers

Every since Little Moo Moo is still a baby, i saw advertisements and blogs promoting cloth diapers but i had not taken the innitiative to try one on her.

Last year, my best friend joined the mummy group and hope to try out cloth diapers on her baby hence it trigger my interest and bought my very first set of cloth diaper. Little Moo Moo is already potty trained that time hence the cloth diaper was kept in the cupboard since then.

During the Chinese New Year spring cleaning session about a month back, i found the cloth diaper, which i had totally forgotten, tucked under piles of Moo Moo's clothes.

"Should i try it on bunny dear? Will it leaks? How long can it last? Will it cause rashes? " So many ?? pop up and it really back me out especially the rashes problem as bunny dear had suffers almost a week of rashes when he is around 1+ months old.

Last saturday, i finally try it on bunny dear. I am very pleased with the results. No rashes, no leaks and bunny dear's bumbum stays dry even when the diaper's insert are soaked to the max in 4-5 hours!

Cleaning is stress free too! I just give both the diaper and the insert a good rinse, squeeze dry, put it in my laundry bag and wash it with my laundry!

I had since order a few more sets from Nice Cloth Diaper and will try it on bunny dear over the weekend. Hopefully the babysitter will like the idea of using cloth diapers too!

Dear mommies out there. Do give it a try! A small step each can makes huge different to the environment!

I Felt So BAD

I felt so bad for not saving up money doing check-up at government clinics while pregnant with bunny dear.

I felt so bad for not able to deliver bunny dear naturally.

I felt so bad that bunny dear is born with severe jaundice.

I felt so bad that i only managed to direct feed bunny dear during the first 2 days of hospital stay and yet so many people can do it for years.

I felt so bad that my breast milk supply had once again failed me and i am not able to fully breast feed bunny dear.

I felt so bad that i choose to had a few extra hours of sleep in the middle of the night instead of waking up, pumping to increase my breast milk supply.

I felt so bad that i once again didn't managed to convert to cloth diapers/CD and have to pollute the environment even more.

I felt so bad that i only managed to supply breast milk for merely 40 days.

I felt so bad seeing bunny dear vomiting milk after each feed.

I felt so bad that bunny dear is a fussy baby. Do i passed it to him when he is inside me?

I felt so bad for not taking good care of bunny dear and makes him suffers from stuffy nose.

I am such a bad mummy.

Jaundice

Jaundice is very common among Asian Newborn babies.

Jaundice means the yellow appearance of the skin and whites of the eyes that occurs when the blood contains an excess of the pigment called bilirubin.

Bilirubin is a natural product arising from the normal breakdown of red blood cells in the body and is excreted in the bile, through the actions of the liver.

Although jaundice is most often the result of a disorder affecting the liver, it can be caused by a variety of other conditions affecting, for example, the blood or spleen. It should be thoroughly investigated, so that the underlying cause can be identified and treated.

Both my kids were born with severe jaundice and were required to be under the UV light for 2 to 3 days. Bunny Dear's bilirubin level were at 250 when he is 2 days old. The level increases up to 265 when he is 8 days old (which is considered the peak days). Luckily the level decreased to 241 in day 9 and 205 in day 12.

Some tips from the doctor:
1) Formula milk actually helps to reduce the bilirubin level better than breast milk
2) Asian mom who are breast feeding, please reduce the intake of ginger and wine during the first few days or until the baby's bilirubin level dropped to a safe level.
